Milorad Gavric's funeral

My friend Eizabeth Gavric invited me to photograph the funeral of her father Milorad Gavric, I was moved and honored to receive this invitation. I have documented funerals before and of course I have assisted to many both as a private party and as a photographer, nevertheless it was something completely different to go over the photos I took this time and to see the emotions of his family and specially of Elizabeth for whom I have great care and respect.
The funeral services where held at a gorgeous Serbian Orthodox Church, that offered a frame of color, beauty and tradition to a moment so deep and filled with emotions as this one.
In one hand you have the profound sadness of a family, a clear and obvious reflection of the great love they felt and feel for Mr. Gavric, in the other hand you have the intense and vibrant colors of the Serbian Church, a representation of the passion and beauty of the Serbian people.
One of the most moving moments was to see Elizabeth's mother, Nada, hold hands with Andy Grundman, as a expression of love, but maybe also looking for the warmth feeling of the support of a good man, tlie her husband was a source of trust and love to her, Andy is for Elizabeth and for a moment also to Nada.

Milorad Gavric was born on November 15, 1929 in Stitar, Serbia (Former Yugoslavia),he is survived by his wife Nada, daughters Mirjana (Marko Markovic), Natalie (James Speer), and Elizabeth.
